Nothing gets me going like a good recipe and a new dish to bake. The planning, the excitement when the dish looks like its working out, the joy of seeing my family and friends gobble it up and eagerly looking forward to what I can bake next, everything about baking makes me happy (the messy kitchen counter top aside :p) Here's a peek into my kitchen, my cooking, my wonderland.

Valentine's Day Cookies

You are my Love bug
I loved the muah cookies so much that I went ahead and made a whole bunch of Valentine's Day Cookies that are on sale via my baking outfit - The Dessert Island. The response to my V-day cookies were so great that I thought why not share them here as well? As always, my designs are simple are something that anyone with an eye for cookie decorating can attempt. I always prefer cheeky and fun V'day cookies/msg's than the sappy ones, so my cookies reflect that, barring a few :) No tutorial this time on these, since this is a just drool post. But I do hope to get your feedback on them.

So here goes, the one you see on the top is aptly titled you are my love bug and they remind me of the love bug/lady bird cupcakes I had made and shared on my blog a year ago. You can see that post here..

The next on the list is one that is my fav and I call him Mr Lova Lova. The Casanova of the pack, you can't resist falling in love with him... Perfect for those who want to take him home or to gift to your special someone... Side effects include swooning and Shaggy's song playing in your head on repeat. Say it with me, Mr lova lova ♪ ♫ ♩...

The next one was inspired by one of my favorite songs while growing up. "Though we gotta say goodbye for the summer, but darling I promise you this, I'll send you all my love, everyday in a letter, sealed with a kiss..."

You get to have the name of the person you want to give it to on the front of the cookie envelope and it's sealed with a kiss on the back. Yes, cheesy, but it will bring a smile on your valentine's face, trust me...

Coming up next is the most popular of the pack and the cutest. This adorable fella asks you a question that you can't refuse. Again, I remember the cupcakes I did a year ago on the blog and you can them here. Funny how I started experimenting with fondant on both these critters and have settled on royal icing as my go to medium now, though the cutie pie's I make remain the same.

Will you "Bee' Mine?
This is the kiddiest of the lot but one that's beautiful in it's simplicity. All I can say is - Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right
Little darling
It's been a long, cold lonely winter
Little darling
It feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right

You are my sunshine
This next one took a long time to craft but was so worth it. I started with a R.I transfer and these lil buggers with their font took forever to pipe and yes, many broke away when peeling them off and I was back to trying again. But when you see the final result, they are worth all the agony :). These cookies are my ode to the iconic Love Park sculpture, something that I loved the first time I saw it.

Last but not the least is my centrepiece. I have always wanted to try a cookie box and what better occasion than Valentine's Day to try it out. Fill it with your choice of sweet treats and as they say, you get to have your cake/cookie box and eat it too :D
One of those gifts where you get to eat the box it came in

Note: Some of the designs you see come from from client requests to inspiration from various sources. These cookies are crafted me and I take credit for the execution of them, not the designs themselves...
